Subject:Federal Election 1998 - National Bicycle Strategy
Dear Sir/Madam,
May I take this opportunity to thank you (or previous federal government) for the improvements that have been actioned for cyclists in my community. (IF ANY).
The reason that I am writing to you is to request your answer regarding the National Bicycle Strategy.
Will the National Bicycle Strategy which will be launched next year in February at the Australasian Bicycle Conference, in Adelaide, provide the necessary funding to construct bicycle infrastructure throughout Australia to achieve an increase in cycling?
Will the Federal Government commit $billions to assist "local bikeway strategies" across Australia to implement their works programs, to construct "on road" and "off road" bicycle facilities?
So far my community is progressing (well?) with (x) has been actioned. We need funding to help achieve (x) as soon as possible.
Because of the many economic, health and social benefits that Bicycle Transport provides to ALL AUSTRALIANS, I appeal to you to support the National Bicycle Strategy and its FUNDING wholeheartedly.
